Another morning and I wake with thirst for the goodness I do not have.

Which is yet another way of saying:

Not enough love; no love enough for this greedy girl whose desire for love is also the desire to quench the world's thirst for it.

But the world's thirst is infinite; as long as she is part of the world, her thirst will never be quenched.

G. messaged me the other day to ask whether I was ok; said that all the blog posts look "suspicious".   Truth is, things are pretty intense (tasking the brain cells; the heart and therefore the body) at work and devoting my brain to those things has left me with a lot of  negative contradictory feelings and tired energy to be dispersed at day's end ( Read more... )

before things unraveled, even though she had asked no questions, and tried to keep her feet dry. 

After the holidays, the downward spiral.

Coming back from the country, displeased with the city and its pretentions.

A sobering distaste for the usual pleasures.

The week's only satisfaction: Folding  and refolding the kitchen linen.

The suspect desire: To lose oneself in the dig for hidden culverts. 

What I found remarkable about the daughter's poem is that it reveals her understanding of metaphor. An ominous rain cloud is a gray flower; personified, the rain cloud/gray flower darkens ("blackens", to match with "gray") the sky.  In a reflective mood, the hubby posted what the last decade meant to him yesterday evening.

I've tabulated my own decade, and found it quite funny and sad at the same time that it reads like a CV.

Apparently, career building, together with mothering, took up a great part of my decade.
